Classwork 6: Weather Forecasting Exercise

This week we'll work as a group to make a weather forecast
(temperature, precipitation, cloud cover), for Sunday, March 6,
2005, 2pm, for the Sells, AZ, based on observations available as
of Saturday, March 5, 2005, and using meteorology concepts we've learned
in class. This classwork is based on a similar exercise from the
University of Illinois/Urbana-Champaign Atmospheric Sciences Dept.'s
WW2010 Project.
1. What, when and where would you like to have meteorological
data in order to develop a weather forecast for Sells for 24 hours from
now? Revise your ideas after looking at forecasting tips here. Use the guide to weather map symbols here.
2. Based on your observations and concepts from class, write down
your prediction for Sells weather for Sunday,
March 6th, 2005, 2pm below:
