Third year:
13 September 2005 -12 September 2006.
September-December:
The big news is getting ready and used to the arrival of a little
sister. We've been trying to prepare her for the situation, and I
think she gets it; but still, she's not entirely happy about it.
She's back in our room to sleep, sometimes needing to curl up with me;
and although she's an enthusiastic big sister sometimes I wonder about
her motives. It's been a relatively easy cold season so far, but
Aditi's still very lightweight - about 21 lbs we guess, although tall
enough for her age, and fitting in with kids her age. A big
activity as the cool season has arrived is riding her push bike around
and around the neighborhood with the other resident toddlers.
When I get home early, or we find time on weekends, we go for a ride on
my bike to see the horses at the UA Farm down Roger Rd. She's a
much better communicator now - for instance, when she's hungry, she
might ask for one of Nani's homemade
samosas - a favorite snack. And she's getting girly on us:
likes dresses, hand lotion, hairclips. Geez.
For more pictures of Aditi this fall and onward, see her sister's pages
here. Not that her sister has
gotten a fraction of the pictures Aditi has. I guess the history
of younger siblings getting ignored photo-wise is repeating itself.
Late November:
Doing the girly thing: putting lotion on with Moosie.
January-March:
We're settling into a routine at home, with help and childcare-sharing
with neighbors. In the fall, we've arranged for Aditi to go back
to daycare (this time to Desert Springs Children's Center) because we
can use the extra help, and she can use the social interaction. I
can take her on my way to work.
Jan 10th: In the
bike trailer I share with neighbor Brent, with his daughter
Ellie. Cool ride! Man, pulling 50 lbs is hard work.
Jan. 13th: In the
hammock with neighbors Jesse and Ellie.
Feb. 11th: I like
tiramisu, especially the mascarpone cheese. Still into the
sticker-art thing.
April-June:
We left Tucson for cooler Minneapolis in May. Photos courtesy of
Moosie and her camera.
June 2nd: Keep the
chocolate coming!
june 3 387/388

june 4 400 June 3: At the Walker Sculpture Park in downtown Minneapolis.
june 11 418
june 18 438
June 4: Mugging for Moosie at lunch out in Minneapolis.
June 11th: OK, not
a lot of action photos, but with two kids, who has a had free to grab
the !$@ camera? Relaxing after a trip to one of the three parks
near Moosie's house.

June 18th: Riding in the "horsie's house" at Como Park with Nana
(while Dada recovers from his spinning head.)
July-September:
We had a great week at the Jersey Shore with Peter, Becky, Jackie, Ida,
Jon, Nancy, Al, Irma, and Nancy, and her daughter. But no
one brought a camera and the disposable camera pictures turned out
lousy. Sorry Aditi and Maya.
