Seventh Month:
13 March 2004 -12 April 2004.
Aditi has kicked the acid reflux problem, thanks to craniosacral
therapy and Noah at the Providence Institute. Aditi's weight gain
rate is about 3/4 oz/day: she passed the 10 lb. mark in early
April. However, her length, weight and
head circumference are all less than the 5th percentile, even for low
birthweight infants; she is a small package and will be for some
time to come. With the end of the reflux (fingers crossed) she
has begun teething. At the same time, she is getting more and
more coordinated and can hold a spoon to eat rice cereal. To be
more precise, she insists on holding the spoon to eat rice
cereal... typical. Toward the end of the month we have been
successfully introducing other vegetables: sweet potato, acorn squash,
peas; applesauce came right back out. We had visits from
grandparents Jack and Eileen (CT), cousin Amy (MA), and friends Alexey
and Anna (NY).
Mar.
17th:
We're trying Aditi on rice cereal. No luck until we let her
hold the spoon; then, she seems to be willing and able.

17th:
It's not to early to start geological training, is it? Here Anu
is showing Aditi the defining features of a mylonite hand sample from
the Catalina Mts.
Mar
21: This kid is always in motion - must be Dad's 'nudge' genes.
Here she is practicing what appear to be yoga moves.
Mar 24th: Eileen and Jack come to visit. We once
again achieve the magical >3:1 adult:child ratio and can get
some more sleep.
Mar 24th: Aditi practicing adult control skills on Jack.
Mar
26th: Grandparents mean... more toys. Aditi's getting good at
holding smaller objects like this plastic block.

Mar
27th: For some reason toes are fascinating. Sometimes they even
make it into her mouth.

Mar 27th:
Sweet potato is a favorite item of clothing. I mean, food.

Mar 28th:
with Amy and Ina.
Mar 29th: She'll eat fine, just as long as she gets to
hold the spoon. Sometimes it doesn't need to be the spoon with
the food on it. It seems like a long time since Aditi was taking 7cc of
milk, 8 times a day. Now she eats 8-10 times a day, twice on
solid food; the other feedings are 1-3 oz. (30-90 ml) each.

Dec
9th; Apr 2nd: what a difference 4 months and 5 lbs makes.
Apr.
3rd: Check out my cool socks from Howard, Julie, Marina, Emma and
Hallie.
Apr 7th: One way to calm the baby is to carry her for
laps around the neighborhood. The headphones are especially
useful for laps 1 and 2 while the caterwauling is still proceeding...
here we are stopping to chat with Paul and Dina during a recent lap 3

Apr
9th: Sitting up? Uh oh...
Soft landing, but maybe not quite yet.
